The Gift of Speech, A Professional Speech Language Pathology Corporation seeks Speech Language Pathologist for its Stockton, CA office.

Provide speech and language therapy to students to minimize the adverse impact of speech and language disorders on student success. Develop treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials to minimize the adverse impact of communication disorders in compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate meetings and processes for eligible students such as testing/screening, IEPs (Individualized Education Programs), parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc. to present evaluation results, develop treatment plans, and/or provide training to parents/students. Maintain files and/or records such as progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc. to ensure the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance. Collaborate with a variety of groups and/or individuals such as parents, teachers, physicians, administration, maintenance personnel, team members, other professionals, etc. to obtain information, resolve issues, and provide services in compliance with established guidelines. Interpret medical reports to ensure treatment and/or intervention plans are appropriate. Work with support staff for providing information on communicative disorders, use of assistive devices and feeding techniques and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans. Instruct eligible students in the use of appropriate communication technologies such as hearing aids, FM (Frequency Modulation) systems, augmentative communication devices, etc. for minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements. Research resources and methods such as intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc. to determining the appropriate approach for addressing students’ needs. Requires Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Speech Language Pathology, or related. Must also have advanced knowledge (gained from academic coursework, research project, teaching assistantship, or practical training through internship or co-op) of: Development and assessment of language in children; Speech sound and language intervention approaches; Diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies for swallowing disorders; Clinical skills related to Speech-Language Pathology; Evaluation and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders; and Assessment and treatment of motor speech disorders. A valid California License of Speech-Language Pathology.
